Anna is in 11th grade. She played on the Marquette Senior High School Boy's Varsity Hockey Team this past season. Marquette is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Anna is the first female in the history of the school to make the Varsity team. Anna has been playing boys hockey for years and had a successful season backing her teammates and buddies in net. Her Varsity team competed against teams in the Upper Peninsula and played in key showcases and games in downstate Michigan.

  • Anna was the only female on the Boy's Varsity Team. Her teammates were very accepting and supportive of her. They practiced everyday after school, had frequent team dinners, and hung out outside of the rink together.

  • Anna made the 18u AA split season boy's team. She shared the goalie position with another male player but Anna earned the "starting goaltender" position. The team won every game that Anna played in net. Anna has played with these boys for years but she broke from the group to play AAA girls hockey last year in hopes of gaining more exposure. The boys were thrilled to have her back playing with them & they begged her to try out for the regular season Varsity team. Anna tried out and made the Varsity Boys Team for 2021-2022, following this pre-season team, which was most of the same boys.

  • One of Anna's qualities as a goaltender is to maintain her focus and composure regardless of the score of the game. In one game she faced 88 shots, resulting in 85 saves. Her team was defeated 3-1 but the shots on goal were 88 to 4.
