My name is Maria Payne (2008 birth year; 2027 grad year) and I play defense for the Arizona Kachinas 16U AAA. I was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, I started playing hockey in Bloomington, Illinois (age 6) and I currently reside in Chandler, Arizona. My strengths include my skating ability, speed, shot, hockey IQ, unselfish play and team first mentality. I look forward to playing women's ice hockey at the collegiate level after high school graduation.

  • During my time playing for the Arizona Kachinas, my teams have advanced to USA Hockey Nationals twice - once as a 14U Tier II player (2022) and once as a 16U Tier I player (2024). In addition, last year I was one of two 2008 Arizona Defensemen selected for the USA Hockey District Development Camp. Besides my Kachinas team, I have also participated on summer tournament teams and have competed at the North American Female Hockey Showcase (Blaine, MN), the Beantown Classic (Boston, MA) and the East Coast Wizards Summer Showcase (Beford, MA). I continue to look for opportunities to develop/grow.
