Esposito was a standout goaltender at Northfield Mt Hermon Prep, where he earned All New England and All Scholastic honors. He played his college hockey at Brown University (ECAC) and Trinity College (NESCAC), where he was named to the Frank Marchese Award for Most Valuable Player and still holds the Trinity record for most saves in a game. He began his coaching career as an assistant at NMH prep, where he was also the Athletic Coordinator for Admissions.
